Lithium-ion Battery Recycling: Process & Equipment
The Lithium-ion Battery Recycling market is growing rapidly, driven by the demand from electric car manufacturers like Tesla. As cobalt and lithium become more expensive due to their use in battery manufacturing, recycling these metals becomes increasingly feasible. Met-Chem manufactures essential equipment for recycling lithium-ion batteries in a low-cost and environmentally friendly way. Here’s an overview of the process:Get more news about Lithium Battery Recycling Equipment, you can vist our website!

1. Shredding and Separation
Shredding: Lithium-ion batteries are shredded into small pieces using a shredder and a hammer mill.
Shaker Table: The ground-up batteries are transferred to a shaker table, which separates mixed plastics and metals based on weight and size. The resulting slurry contains granular solids known as “black mass.”
2. Filter Press
The Filter Press captures the black mass between filter plates while allowing the liquid (lithium brine solution) to pass through the filter media.
Pressure filtration separates the black mass from the brine solution. The filtered water/lithium brine is then transferred to the next step.
3. Evaporation System
The remaining liquid or lithium brine is processed by the Evaporation System.
The Evaporator removes excess water and concentrates the brine to a specified level.
Temperature-controlled heating ensures efficient evaporation, even when dealing with volatile chemicals in the brine.
Equipment Features
Heavy Duty Filter Presses: Custom-engineered for specific needs and applications.
Temperature Controlled Evaporation: Ensures precise concentration of the brine.
Automated System: Safe and easy to use.
