Opening a Staten Island studio for a hair weave specialist who specializes in wigs and extensions
Staten Island, New York (WABC) --Having grown up watching her mother run a successful hair salon in St. Thomas, Nastasia "Stassi" Brown was completely taken aback after receiving her first weave.
It wasn't until I was 14 years old that my mother gave me my first weave that I realized I was hooked. Her mother and grandmother immigrated to the United States when she was nine years old, and she remembers thinking, Bob Lace Front Wig "Wow," as she braided her hair down and attached something to it.
This process left Brown so impressed that she began braiding the hair of her friends and family members.
When I first learned how to cornrow, I practiced on the hair of my male cousins until I got the hang of it. . . To get the hang of sewing and track placement, I worked with my cousins until I was comfortable. It's important because if you don't place it correctly, the whole head will look off,” Brown explains further.

A problem with her financial aid surfaced one semester while she was pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration at the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook.
As a result of her inability to pay for classes, she decided to pursue her true passion and enrolled at the Career School of New York in St. George.
I had to withdraw from my CSI courses, and as a result, I made the decision to attend cosmetology school,” Brown explained.

The term "WEAVEOLOGIST" refers to someone who studies weaves.
Eight years later, she describes herself as a "weaveologist," a professional who specializes in weaving, wigs, and hair extensions. She also creates wigs that are tailored to the individual customer. Besides wigs and weaves, she also colors them, she explained.
Studio 11 Beauty Bar is part of Sola Salons, which is a franchise that includes 29 individual studios in Port Richmond. She opened the salon in July of this year.
Amora is our beautiful daughter, and I've always done hair on the side since she was born in 2016. Her fiance, Reid, has been extremely supportive of her business venture, she says. Her other area of expertise is "natural hair care," and she enjoys assisting women who are experiencing hair problems, such as thinning.

A large number of women began to present with similar problems, including a receding or missing hairline, breakage, dehydration, or even balding patches. Brown provides these clients with a regimen that includes product recommendations, instructions on how to use the products, and a "next trim date," according to her.

Ingredients such as aloe, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils are used for cleansing and moisturizing purposes, and they can all be found in your kitchen. DELIGHTED WITH HER MOTHER'S SUPPORT
When Brown was a child growing up, she would spend her time with her mother, Moyzine Edwards, who had a strong work ethic. Brown said she was inspired to start her own business after watching her mother.
‘Go-getter’ is the best way to describe my mother. Throughout the day, I would literally just sit and observe her work. After leaving the salon, she would go to work as a bartender, which she did until the next day. Until recently, her work ethic had been described as "crazy. "“I was naturally drawn to her because I was the only child she had,” Brown recalled of his childhood.
